Unstuck

There was once a man who became unstuck in the world – he realized that he was not his car, he realized that he was not his job, he was not his phone, his desk or his shoes. Like a boat cut from its anchor, he’d begin to drift.

There was once a man who became unstuck in the world – he took the wind for a map, he took the sky for a clock, and he set off with no destination. He was never lost.

There once was a man who became unstuck in the world – instead of hooks or a net, he threw himself into the sea. He was never thirsty.

There was once a man who became unstuck in the world – with a Polaroid camera he made pictures of all the people he met, and then he gave all the pictures away. He would never forget their faces.

There was once a man who became unstuck in the world – and each person he met became a little less stuck themselves. He traveled only with himself and he was never alone.

There was once a man who’d become unstuck in the world – and he traveled around like a leaf in the wind until he reached the place where he started out. His car, his job, his phone, his shoes – everything was right where he’d left it. Nothing had changed, and yet he felt excited to have arrived here – as if this were the place he’d been going all along.

The Beautiful Truth

Raised on a wildlife reserve in Alaska, 15-year-old Garrett was interested in the dietary habits of the farm animals. After the tragic death of his mother, Garrett's father decided to home-school his son and assigned a book written by Dr. Max Gerson that proposed a direct link between diet and a cure for cancer.

Fascinated, Garrett embarks in this documentary on a cross-country road trip to investigate The Gerson Therapy. He meets with scientists, doctors and cancer survivors who reveal how it is in the best interest of the multi-billion dollar medical industry to dismiss the notion of alternative and natural cures.

Great song for a monday

Monday 4th

Sunday

Well Sunday started early.
I headed with Brant up the North Coast towards Zinkwazi Beach on a surf mission.
Kind of sketchy-looking place for a surf.
We chilled for a bit and watched the surf, this spot has huge potential, with the right swell direction and wind this place must cook!

We got over it, so we headed back to town.(Durban)
After another mission, this time back south side, we arrived at Snake Park to find that the swell was going straight past and it was flat Eish!
Sunday surf mission was held together with good food, good conversations and endless sights of a truly endless Natal Coastline.

Monday

Started with my normal session of social media marketing for my clients, got a cup of Rooi Bos and headed down the road to the point.

This is what I found...

I didn't surf

Saturday 2nd June 2012

Just had a good surf for about an hour, the offshore was swinging off the beach and the waves were round.
I got about 5 waves and 4 were on equal for rides of my life.
I think I should head out again before I have to go coach rugby at 12.

Me

Born 1981 May 19, Durban, Addington Hospital, South Beach.

To Mother Glenda Ann Maltman and  Father George William Swartz.

My mom said that she lay in bed with me in her arms and watched through the windows as people surfed and enjoyed sunny South Africa.
Born into the darkness of the Apartheid, during a period when tempers were flared between various races and groups.
With just a dream of perfect waves and sunny days, my life began its journey.

A journey that would lead me from sunny beaches of the Kwa - Zulu Natal to the Cold West Coast of Vancouver Island.

Over the next couple of posts I will bring the story of my life into a form that I can share with the world, or the people that find my life interesting.

Along they way I will share content and my views on certain topics and random stuff.
Another thing. I will express my words in my own way, if my grammar and english is not correct I am Sorry.

1 July 2012

So the date is 1st of July, I am sitting in my bed in Umdloti Beach South Africa, it's a friday night and I recently broke up with the most beautiful woman in the world, so I sit alone.

She is back in Canada and I don't know if I will ever see her again, I have honestly messed up the best thing ever.

My long term mission is to make her see that I can be what she deserves and also improve things in my life.

Enough of the sad stuff onto brighter things, I have been surfing a lot these days and it is really starting to pay off.
We have been blessed with some perfect perfect winter mornings.

Anyway hope you enjoy your time with me
